The entire world is now encountering conditions long familiar to third world countries: multiple crises disrupting the normal course of lives: pandemics, wildfires, drought, floods, major climate changes, displaced populations, racial injustice, and poverty.

What if this ‘2020’ doesn’t end in 2021?  What if it’s the new normal?

If so, we will actually have a different curve to flatten.  But even if it does ‘end’, it will likely be a precursor of things to come.

In either case, we need to do what we have always been told that humans are good at doing:  Adapt. And one way to do this is to learn from the experiences of others who have adapted to the crises they routinely face .

Wajid will tell us about life in Pakistan, where Covid-19 arrived on top of many natural and human-caused disasters.  Yet, people still make plans, fall in love, meet in tea houses and talk about politics and philosophy. By learning how they have coped and been resilient, we can pause and gather our own inner resources to discover the opportunities for positive change that come with each new challenge.

Consider how we might make omelets from all these broken eggs
