Melinda Darer is co-director and chief operating officer at Focusing Initiatives, responsible for developing the organization’s strategy and vision, creating new initiatives and programs, and managing the finances.
During 2020 she organized and created over 82 webinars on CoronaPlaza.LIFE. She oversees the Indigenous Focusing-Oriented Therapy trauma program in New York City, now presented as virtual trainings. She established a virtual bi-weekly Wholebody Gathering with guest facilitators and attunements.
At Carnegie Mellon University, she studied modern languages and literature, graduating with a Liberal Arts degree. She has more than 30 years of experience in non-profit management. At the International Focusing Institute, she was managing director, responsible for programs and retreats, policies, marketing, media relations and budgets.
Melinda strongly values equality and diversity in team settings
Her areas of interest include communication styles, conflict resolution, mindfulness, and pausing.
Melinda lives in Northampton, MA with her husband Mitch and their new puppy Justice (named after Ruth Bader Ginsburg).
