Surrendering to the Wholeness with Jocelyn Jacks Kahn
we’ll broaden our sense of it through explicitly touching into
our awareness of our ancestors and spiritual guides as part of our wholebody selves
“For the opening prompt of a Focusing partnership session, there are a few I’ve particularly come to welcome: “What wants to come now?” or “Show me something that would be helpful about this whole situation.” I like these prompts because they help me open up to the fact that I, personally, have no idea what should happen here….
But my absolute favorite is one I first heard from Karen Whalen in her recent Relational Wholebody Focusing program: “DO something for me!” (The note of DEMAND in it makes me laugh every single time!) And this is not simply demanded of my Body Wisdom, but of my ancestors and spiritual guides – somehow, it had not occurred to me to bring these into my sessions before that….
We’ll be spending a good deal of time spaciously touching into our wholebody selves and grounding into the relational field that we deepen into ever more profoundly as we bring our awareness to it. And we’ll broaden our sense of it further through explicitly touching into our awareness of our ancestors and spiritual guides as part of our wholebody selves.
And if that doesn’t float your boat, you are highly encouraged to explicitly bring in different aspects of your wholebody self that you value but somehow don’t think to call in.
We’ll invite our Body Wisdom and […] to “DO something for me!” And then we’ll see what happens as we practice actively surrendering to the wisdom of this wholeness that we are…”
Jocelyn Jacks Kahn has been a certified Focusing Trainer and Guide since 2010. Her main Focusing pathways have been Inner Relationship Focusing and Relational Wholebody Focusing. Focusing reconnected Jocelyn to a deep interest in spiritual development after a number of disillusioning experiences in her early pursuit of spiritual practice.
