I am a semi-retired psychotherapist and Alexander Technique teacher, working from home. I registered as a clinical psychologist with the South African professional board in 1980; completed my FOT certification here in Cape Town in 2008; and have been teaching the Alexander Technique since 1999. I had a nearly-twenty-year career change as a computer systems programmer and analyst during the 1980’s and 1990’s. As a psychologist I worked mostly assessing learning difficulties, and as a school psychologist; now I work only with adults with a psychoanalytic Self Psychology approach. Thanks to my Focusing training and ongoing practice I’m familiar with phone and online sessions, so the shift away from in-person work since lockdown has not affected me negatively. I am also a passionate amateur dancer, with a range of styles from classical ballet to creative dance.
